Zach Calzada transfer: Former Texas A&M QB leaves for Auburn

Former Texas A&M quarterback Zach Calzada announced Thursday he’s committing to Auburn, after coming into the switch portal in December.

Calzada tallied 2,185 yards, 17 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in 10 video games as a sophomore in 2021. He led Texas A&M to an upset win over Alabama in October, throwing for 285 yards and three touchdowns within the Aggies’ 41–38 victory.

Auburn will possible have a quarterback battle between Calzada and former LSU switch TJ Finley for the beginning spot in 2022. Finley began three video games this season with quarterback Bo Nix out of the lineup as a result of harm. Nix transferred to Oregon in December.
