TJ Hockenson injury: Lions TE has thumb surgery, out for season

Lions tight finish T.J. Hockenson underwent thumb surgical procedure on Thursday, in line with ESPN’s Adam Schefter

Hockenson is not going to return to the sphere in 2021. He’s anticipated to make a “full restoration in time for the off-season program” forward of 2022, per Schefter.


Hockenson, 24, was chosen by the Lions with the No. 8 choose within the 2019 NFL draft. He is tallied 160 receptions in three seasons, including 12 touchdowns. Hockenson leads the Lions in receptions (61) and receiving yards (583) getting into Week 15.
