Louisville Police Department practices violated Constitution, DOJ finds

The Louisville, Kentucky, metropolis authorities and police division performed practices that violated the Structure, based on a brand new investigation launched Wednesday by the Department of Justice.
The Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Authorities and the Louisville Metro Police Department had patterns of illegal practices, Lawyer Basic Merrick Garland stated throughout a press convention in Louisville on Wednesday. The DOJ investigation, the outcomes of which Garland introduced Wednesday, was launched after Louisville law enforcement officials shot and killed Breonna Taylor in 2020. That capturing sparked nationwide protests and requires police reform.
In its report, the DOJ had “cheap trigger to imagine” that the town authorities and police division engaged in “a sample or apply of conduct that deprives individuals of their rights beneath the Structure and federal legislation.”
