Justin Fields injury: Matt Nagy confirms QB has cracked ribs

Bears coach Matt Nagy confirmed that quarterback Justin Fields has cracked ribs however will stay the group’s beginning quarterback. 

“When Justin [Fields] is wholesome, he is the starter,” Nagy said. “It is fairly easy.”


NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the damage Thursday morning, saying it occurred within the Week 11 loss to the Ravens. The preliminary checks reportedly revealed bruised ribs, however he went on to have clear X-rays and CT scans. An MRI reportedly confirmed “small fractures.”
