FDA authorizes use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine

The Meals and Drug Administration has approved emergency use of a coronavirus vaccine from Johnson & Johnson, including a 3rd shot to the U.S. arsenal.

The company on Saturday cleared the vaccine for use by folks ages 18 and older, at some point after an impartial FDA advisory committee had endorsed the shot.

The J&J shot is given as a single dose, not like beforehand approved vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna, that are given as two-dose regimens. Research have proven the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is about 66 p.c efficient at stopping average to extreme Covid-19, and offers full safety towards hospitalization and loss of life.
