Bryson DeChambeau spent extra time within the air than anticipated this weekend when he flew house prematurely from the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hole Membership.
When the 27-year-old completed his second-round 74 Friday, he sat two over for the event at T-78, and it was wanting like he would miss the cut. DeChambeau determined to depart Charlotte early and fly house to Dallas.
What the world’s fifth-ranked golfer did not account for was for the wind to choose up, resulting in a shake up within the standings. A number of golfers struggled sufficient to maneuver the cut line again to 2-over.
DeChambeau made the weekend cut, however there was an issue. He wanted to depart Dallas and head again to Charlotte to make the 8:10 a.m. ET Saturday tee time.
The golfer posted an image of him on the fitness center on his Instagram story Friday evening with the caption, “Headed again to Dallas to get a fast exercise in.. see ya tomorrow Charlotte.”
On Saturday morning, he defined to some colleagues on the course what went by way of his thoughts.
“Once I was like 78th or no matter, no probability” DeChambeau mentioned. “Land, I am sixty fourth.”
“You are like oh no,” somebody mentioned to the golfer.
“I used to be like you have to be kidding me. Alright, flip it round. Return.”
DeChambeau has ascended the leaderboard after posting 5 birdies Saturday. He double bogeyed on gap 18 to complete three-under on the day and -1 for the event.
