Blinken cuts foreign trip short over Covid concerns

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is chopping short his weeklong abroad trip and returning to Washington, D.C., attributable to causes associated to Covid-19, the State Division introduced on Wednesday.

In a call with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai, Blinken “expressed his deep remorse” that he wouldn’t be touring on to Bangkok from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, State Division spokesperson Ned Value stated in a press release.

“[Blinken] defined that, with a purpose to mitigate the danger of the unfold of COVID-19 and to prioritize the well being and security of the U.S. touring celebration and people they might in any other case come into contact with, the Secretary could be returning to Washington, D.C. out of an abundance of warning,” Value stated.
