Alaska Lawmaker Censured Over Comments

“The Alaska Home of Representatives voted nearly unanimously Wednesday to reprimand Rep. David Eastman (R) for speculating the state may financially profit if little one abuse victims died of their abuse,” Alaska Public Media studies.
“The Home’s 35-1 vote to censure Eastman — the lone vote in opposition to the measure got here from Eastman himself — marks the third time the controversial Wasilla Republican has been reprimanded by the Home. The Home beforehand censured him in 2017. One yr later, the Home Ethics Committee discovered he violated state ethics regulation.”
“A censure vote like Wednesday’s has no penalties aside from placing a proper assertion of disapproval or reprimand on the file.”
